WECO LP-2005 activated carbon vessels contain high-porosity coconut shell activated carbon, which has a tremendous internal microporous network that removes taste and odor problems caused by chlorine, gases and natural organics like MIB and geosmin. Coconut shell carbon is very hard and minimizes release of black dust particles into the water.
Residual chlorine disinfectants react with the tank of GAC, converting chlorine to harmless chloride.
At optimum flow rates, activated carbon filter also removes herbicides, pesticides, synthetic chemicals, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from water.
