Description

The WECO Backwashing filter with KDF®-55 is a comprehensive whole house Point-Of-Entry (POE) chlorine removal solution tailored for municipal water supplies. Utilizing KDF®-55, which comprises high purity copper-zinc granules, this system employs redox reactions to efficiently reduce chlorine andheavy metals in potable water, all without the need for chemical additives. Chlorine, notorious for causing taste and odor issues in drinking water and showers, also acts as a potent oxidizing irritant, leading to discomfort in users of all ages, including pets. Additionally, it adversely affects the sensory experience of beverages and prepared foods.

The WECO backwashing filters are available in various sizes, catering to different water purification needs. For personalized assistance in selecting the appropriate filter size, customers are encouraged to consult with WECO Technical Support.

Comprising a Structural mineral tank and a metered digital controller head, the WECO backwashing filter embodies durability and functionality. The mineral tank, featuring an attractive stainless-steel outer jacket, ensures longevity and chemical resistance, making it suitable for both residential and industrial applications. Its slim diameter facilitates easy installation in confined spaces, optimizing floor space utilization. Meanwhile, the modern digital controller, crafted from a fiber-reinforced polymer valve body, offers superior strength and durability. Its user-friendly interface, complete with a large LCD screen and intuitive navigation, simplifies programming and operation.

During operation, water enters the tank through the control valve and passes downward through the KDF-55 filter media, effectively removing impurities. Periodic self-cleaning cycles ensure the continuous efficiency of the filter by rinsing away accumulated contaminants. When the filter medium reaches its saturation point, triggering the backwash process, water is rapidly and forcefully directed backward through the media, dislodging particulate matter and resetting the media bed. The treated water then flows upward through the riser tube and exits the filter through the control valve.
