Flow Restrictors, also known as Flow Controls or Capillaries are an essential component of all Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Filter Systems.
Flow Restrictors must be properly sized to match and maintain a desired ratio of brine flow (drain) to permeate flow (filtered water) that is unique to the membrane flow capacity. Most standard ro systems operate at 4:1 brine to permeate flow ratio while newer high efficiency ro systems such as WECO VGRO Series achieve 1:1 rate.
It is recommended to replace the Flow Restrictor each time you change the reverse osmosis membrane to keep the water filter system operating at maximum efficiency.
It is recommended to install a Permeate Pump to increase the efficiency of your ro system.
